For over 50 years, Ernst Cramer worked in leading roles for the Axel Springer publishing house. Throughout that time, he observed and commented on the development of Germany after 1945, its handling of its Nazi past, and the dangers of intolerance and radicalism. To mark the tenth anniversary of his death, a book about his work is set to be released. The book recounts an appearance before schoolkids in Texas in 2008. One pupil still remembers the visit.
